Wedding 05.31.2009
DANNY patty
Last weekend we had the opportunity to co-shoot the Temecula wedding of Patty and Danny with Brett from Emily Faulknor Photography. The Faulknors are fellow San Diego wedding photographers (very very very talented ones too!) and dear friends of ours and it was such a blessing to be able to shoot with them at one of their weddings. This wedding was FABULOUS. The vineyards, the hair, the make up, the dress (sigh…the dress), EVERYTHING was beautiful….this couple was rolling in good taste, not to mention they were so much fun to be around. I could go on and on about the beauty of this wedding, but I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Patty and Danny, you were such a blast to shoot, thank you for being so flexible with our suggestions and for absolutely blowing the camera away (as you will see below, they were amazing with the camera), oh and thank you for being so hot, I’m serious, stunning! And now for the pictures….enjoy! (for a more in-depth post of this wedding, stay tuned for a future post on Emily Faulknor’s blog…..you won’t want to miss it).
Just a little dress detail for you….Danny and Patty designed her dress together and when I saw it, I was speechless.

Here are the bride and groom getting ready together before the ceremony…I love this picture because it’s not something we see at every wedding, and I love it when couples mix things up a bit.

I love me some wine barrels….and with this couple, so did the camera! Look at them, don’t they belong in a magazine???

The next picture is the wedding party helping her with the bustle….I love how the guys are helping out too

Trash the Dress 05.22.2009
MEGHAN
Oh Meghan, how much the camera loves you…..if only I had your model skills. Seriously, Meghan blew my mind at her trash the dress session we did with her the other day (just look at her!!!!! she’s breathtaking!). Her natural skills and comfort in front of the camera combined with her glorious wedding dress and awesome personality made for one of the most enjoyable shoots I’ve ever done. We started out in downtown SD on the prowl for some graffiti, we lucked out when we found an old parking lot with a sweet car and bright graffiti. She was willing to try whatever we suggested with a smile on her face the entire time (like hold a sign on the side of the freeway…..Meghan, did I mention I love you? It’s true). After downtown, we went to Ruby’s Diner where her and JP had their first date…..I remember walking through the mall where everyone was staring at us, and I ask Meghan, “do you feel uncomfortable with all these people staring and pointing?” her answer? “I LOVE IT!” Which made me love her. After Ruby’s we headed to our house for some night shots, where Meghan displayed her magical powers (check out the last picture and you’ll totally understand). Meghan and JP, we had such a great time with you and I can’t wait until we hang out again very soon. In the meantime, I’ll be watching for you on America’s Next Top Model!!!!!

This one belongs in a magazine….just look at her!!!!

Like I said, breathtaking…..

At Ruby’s Diner…their Oreo Milkshakes are to die for….and so is Meghan drinking one in fact….

I love how tough they look in this picture, “that’s right, I’m in my wedding dress on the side of the freeway and we’re hot…don’t mess with us!”

And, she has powers, it’s true and here’s the picture to prove it!

Architecture 05.21.2009
JONATHAN segal
Rico has been working on a project with one of our clients, Jeff Durkin from Breadtruck films (see his engagements HERE). They have been shooting a documentary for one of San Diego’s leading architects. Rico is a major fan of Jonathan’s work so it was such a great experience to be a part of this project (just in case you didn’t already know, Rico received a degree in Architecture from Cal Poly SLO which explains his interest in architecture). The video and pictures will be showcased at the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla starting tonight. Props to Rico and Jeff for their amazing photography/videography skills, and many thanks to Breadtruck Films for including Studio Castillero in this project. To check out some architectural awesomeness stop by the museum tonight (we’ll be there) OR view the photos below OR even better, do BOTH!!!
