Engagement 06.18.2009 PAUL amanda

Since I was late in posting on Monday of this week, I thought I’d make it up to you and give you two posts in one week!!! Yes, internet, I do love you , it’s true. ANYWAYS, we met Amanda and Paul for the first time the day that we did their engagement session in Pasadena. I’m always a bit nervous to shoot someone that I’ve never met, but they they instantly took my apprehension away. They were so sweet together and so comfortable in front of the camera. They were willing to go with whatever pose we threw their way and were flexible with locations (even when we got kicked out of the Descanso Gardens because we didn’t know you’re supposed to have a permit to shoot there…a permit that costs $300!!!!!). We had fun cruising around City Hall and  Cal Tech (coolest building there….see below). Oh and did I mention their style? They looked fantastic!!!! Trust me, or I guess just see for yourself below!!  Paul and Amanda, you’re awesome and your wedding in July is going to rock….I just know it. Enjoy the pictures everyone but be forewarned, Amanda is absolutely extraordinarily stunning. Seriously, beautiful.

Family 06.16.2009 AGUIRRE family

I know! It’s Tuesday and I’m a day late. I have really been trying to post every Monday, but had a FABULOUS photo shoot on Saturday (can’t WAIT to share) and then were out of town the rest of weekend at my sister’s graduation (Go Sarah!!!!). Valid excuses right? So, here I am, a day late, good thing I have a post that won’t disappoint. We did a family shoot in Balboa Park with this beautiful family recently, and it was ever so fantastic. The kids were PROS with being in front of the camera, which made for a smooth photo session. I loved the interaction between these three. It always makes me so happy to see close families and they definitely were. It made me excited for my future family (SEVERAL years from now) and the closeness that will bring. Thanks so much you three, I’m excited for our next shoot in a couple of weeks!

Studio news 06.10.2009 NEW dvd boxes

Ok, so I’m a total sucker for anything paper…cool packaging, stationary, envelopes, you name it! Whenever I find a new stationary store, I know it means trouble (at least for the bank account anyways).  I ESPECIALLY love paper products that are recyclable. One of our core values for our business is to leave as small of a footprint as possible on this planet….we strongly believe that we can still deliver a fabulous product all the while holding to our responsibility to be eco-conscious. As I’ve mentioned before, one of the ways we do this is by donating a portion of our profit to the environmental non profit, Plant With Purpose.

As well as supporting an environmental org, we try to take active steps in preserving our earth in all aspects of our business. One area that is a bit trickier when it comes to being green, is in packaging, so we’ve been playing around with a few things and wanted to share what we’ve come up with! TADA! Eco friendly, yet still stylish packaging! I can hear the trees clapping, can’t you???? So, below is just a little peek at what our clients receive when their pictures are finished…fabulous pictures, low environmental impact, does it get any better than that??????

Let me know your thoughts, and if you have any suggestions/ideas on “green” business practices, definitely leave a comment! In the meantime, I’ll be at the stationary store drooling over all the fantastic “green” options they have these days…..
