TIM marijke
Hey there everyone! I hope you enjoyed the holidays and are gearing up for New Year’s Eve this week. We have a sweet wedding to shoot at the Omni in downtown San Diego that night, so we’re definitely looking forward to it. And now that I’m almost fully recovered from my recent brush with the good old H1N1, I’m looking forward to getting out of the house and perhaps doing a little dancing (if my energy levels permit of course). Today I thought I’d share with you the adorable wedding of Tim and Marijke. Seriously, adorable is the perfect word because this couple definitely is just that. They were married in Arroyo Grande at a private residence complete with an old bathtub in a field…yes, possible photogasm. I seriously love this couple, and since I’m having a rough time waking up this morning (yes, I know it’s almost noon but still morning to me!)…perhaps I’m still recovering from the 50% sale at Urban Outfitters yesterday, SO AWESOME but still insane. Anyways, I’ll leave you with the pictures because, well, I like them and they are the perfect Monday brightener if you ask me. Oh, and a special thanks to Manzanita Designs for doing such a rocking job on the flowers, and then to Doug from DNA Wylie Photography for your awesome second shooting skills….you both seriously help make our job a breeze! AND THEN of course, thanks to Tim and Marijke for being so, well, adorable and flexible AND easy to work with!

Maternity 12.21.2009
SIERRA kevin {maternity}
Happy Monday my friends! I am currently in bed battling the flu, so I hope your Monday is going better than mine! I won’t let the flu get me down though, still gotta have that Monday blog post! I am however going to make this short, pictures do all the talking anyways right? We recently had the opportunity to do a maternity session for one of our favorite couples, Kevin & Sierra. We shot their wedding, and now their maternity session and SOON we’ll take some pictures of their little boy. They were down for doing something different so we grabbed our couch and lamp and headed to the wilderness (well, as wilderness as you can get in San Diego). We ended the night with a trip to El Indio, so I’d say it was a successful evening. Don’t believe me? Just take a look below! Alright, back to bed I go. Have a fabulous week my friends and keep an eye out for those cards we’re sending out (give me your address if you haven’t already!).

JEFF ginger
Hello to you all my friends! Can it really be Monday AGAIN and the middle of December??? I can’t believe it. I need to send out holiday cards and at least START my gift shopping. Speaking of holiday cards, leave me your address in the comments or email it to me so that I can be sure to send you one! You won’t want to miss out, I promise you that. (email address: rachel@studiocastillero.com). Where was I, oh yes, Monday. This weekend was INSANELY AWESOME because we had three shoots in San Fran and then rushed back to San Diego late last night (coffee = sanity). Seriously though, the shoots were AMAZING and I can’t wait to share them with you (Trash the Dress in the rain!)…but moving on to the wedding I have to share with you today, because well, it’s pretty freaking awesome.
Today I give you the wedding of Ginger and Jeff. This couple is very dear to me (I know, I know…I say that a lot, but at least I’m not a hater!!!!). Ginger is a close friend of mine and even lived with Rico and I last year for a while. I LOVED seeing her every day, making dinner together, watching Grey’s and the Biggest Loser, WINE….good times, I’m telling you. I was sad when we had to part ways but I GUESS marriage is an ok replacement for living with Rico and Rachel so I’ll try not to hold on to too much resentment. (kidding Jeff, love you too!!!!). When they asked us to be their wedding photographers we were so honored and so excited because well, we’re quite fond of them, and also because we were going to contribute to the memories of their wedding day for the rest of their lives. And if they ever have any struggles with their marriage (happens to the best of us) I’ll just shove a picture in their face “HEY remember that?!!! I have pictures of you kissing!!!” Anyways, on to their wedding. They were married in San Luis Obispo at Edna Valley Winery. We had never shot there before and were not disappointed. It was picture perfect and exactly what I would have picked out for Ginger and Jeff, from the flowers, to the view, to the wine, to the cake, everything (I’ll update this post with details later, gathering). Ok, so it seems that I’ve been little heavy on the writing these days, not sure why, guess I just like to talk. I’ll control myself this time and leave you to the pictures, Jeff and Ginger might just make your day….I know they made mine. Jeff & Ginger, we love you so much and can’t wait for another dinner together soon!
Special props to the fabulous florist who seriously BLEW ME AWAY, Bella’s Design. And to the caterer who did the same by using all local and organic produce, Two Cooks Catering.

A picture of Ginger’s parents on their wedding day, couldn’t resist.

and although we look a little crazy, I couldn’t help posting this next series…classic. I think this was right after the duet Rico and I did to Madonna’s “Like a Prayer.” What can I say? We dance, it’s what we do.
