Hey there internet friends! We just thought we’d post a little something to start your weekend off right (happy Friday btw…who doesn’t love Fridays right?).  This past week Rico had the opportunity to attend the Ultramegeddon workshop with Mr. Roboto himself, Jeff Newsom. Jeff has always been an inspiration to us in our photography so it was awesome to be able to meet with him and learn from him. Well, you can’t get a bunch of photogs together without doing a shoot, so I just wanted to share some of the visual goodness that Rico shot while at the workshop. Yay for Mondays (well, not sure that’s actually true, so I’ll just change that to Yay for Monday blog posts)! We actually had a pretty low key weekend which NEVER happens in the Castillero household. We had a shoot with one of the most adorable baby boys EVER, and that was it! So Saturday after our shoot we hung out with some great friends (go Tuckers!) where we watched movies, ate pizza and drank beer , and then slept until 11am on Sunday (WIN)! One highlight of the weekend: found PERFECT antique chandelier at swap meet for $30 to hang in our dining room (DOUBLE WIN). So there you go, good weekend since I KNOW you were all dying to hear about our lazy days.

Now for some photography goodness. Today we have the engagement shoot of Jenny and David to share with you and I know you’ll be quite pleased. We certainly were when we met up with these two for their engagement session in San Diego. I don’t know what it is, but I feel like EVERY SINGLE one of our clients is very blessed in the looks category, no lie….just go through our blog archives for proof! The funny thing is that most clients don’t think they’re photogenic, this couple being one of them. I understand though, most people aren’t super comfortable being in front of the camera (me being one of them), but I still like to prove them wrong, and boy did this couple make that easy. THEY ARE PHOTOGENIC MASTERS! Just look at them (look at your hot selves Jenny and David)! So, I have for you the beautiful and blow-your-mind photogenic couple, Jenny and David. Can’t wait for them to get hitched at Paradise Point in San Diego on V-day, it’s going to be good times…I can just feel it. David and Jenny, we think you’re fab and we can’t wait to see you again very very soon!

ALSO, as always a shout out to the very talented Tom O’Hara for joining us for the filming of the e.MOTION we did with Jenny and David…kinda think you’re amazing (so does Nina, even though you are allergic to her).

Alright, so today’s post is just a BIT awkward for me…the things we do for sweet pictures right? The reason for this is evident in the first picture which is a giant picture of my face! HOWEVER, as much as I am NOT A FAN of getting my picture taken, Rico and I couldn’t resist doing a shoot in this fabulous downpour we’ve been having in San Diego this week. Since it was just the two of us, we had to pick one person to shoot and one to be the subject. Alas, my long hair betrayed me! It just looks so much better when soaked. So, there you have it, go easy on me, I’m not photogenic so instead just focus on how awesome the rain is, and how it makes for some pretty mean (in a good way) pictures. Happy Thursday my friends!

And yes, the umbrella was definitely just for show…normally it does work better than that.
