Engagement 01.19.2010 TIM dominique

Hello internet friends! Hope your Tuesday is treating you well and that you’re enjoying the rain (if in CA), if you’re feeling a bit sluggish let me just cheer you up with four words, “four day work week!” If that’s not cause for celebration, not sure what is. Well, perhaps a Tuesday blog post is. My amazing weekend of shoots has left me in a good mood, that and the rain because I love rain. We drove up to Santa Barbara on Saturday for a fun engagement shoot at UCSB’s campus, then spent the night up there with our good friend from college, Devin. Then on Sunday, we did get a flat tire in LA which was quickly forgotten about after an AMAZING boudoir session I did for one of our brides. Boudoir, you ask? Yes, we do them….or more like I do them because I think that they can be such an awesome wedding gift for a groom…don’t you think ladies?? Anyways, after our weekend adventures I find myself refreshed and ready to start the week.

So today I give you the A-dorable Dominique and Tim’s engagement session. We did their session in San Francisco, starting at their apartment and then ending at Haight Street. They have such a unique and awesome style and I found myself thinking numerous times during the shoot, “maybe I should move here and we can be best friends.” So besides being awesome to hang out with and gifted in the stylish taste department, they are also quite the lookers. I mean, just check out Dominique’s smile, beautiful. So with that, I leave you with the pictures and I hope you enjoy them just as much as I do (although quite certain you will)! Dominique and Tim, obviously we adore you and cannot WAIT until your wedding in September!

Also, on a more serious note, the burden of Haiti continues to weigh heavily on our hearts. Please consider donating to the organization we support, Plant With Purpose (or a reputable one that you already support) to help out Haiti. Seriously, the best that we as average citizens can do is to donate organizations that are making a difference there right now, even if it’s just a little.

Love you all!

Happy MLK day my friends and stay tuned!!

Personal,Travel 01.14.2010 HAITI …a tribute

So again, it’s the end of the week and I find myself back on the blog. This blog post however, is slightly different, no weddings or engagements, but a tribute. I’m sure you all know about the earthquake in Haiti that has left thousands dead and many more injured and homeless. Rico and I had the opportunity a couple of years ago to visit Haiti with the organization that I work for during the week (yep, I do have another job right now doing HR for seriously one of the best organizations around…how lucky am I?) called Plant With Purpose. One of the countries that PWP works in is Haiti and they brought Rico and I along to do some photography and visit the field. Seriously fell in love with the Haitian people, so hospitable, so beautiful, and so joyful. Our hearts are broken over this tragedy, over the loss of life, the loss of homes, and the loss of hope that a lot of these people are experiencing….People that greeted us personally with open arms, let us sleep in their homes, let us eat their food, let us listen to their stories. As fellow humans, brothers, and sisters, we need to reach out to the Haitian people the best way that we can, whether that be through donating, photography tributes, or even just your prayers. Please join with Rico and I as we celebrate this beautiful country and amazing people, praying for safety during this time of immediate need and then hope and endurance for the many months of recovery and rebuilding ahead. Below are pictures that we took while in Haiti, please take a look and see who it is you’re praying for and supporting, they really are quite fabulous (referring to the subjects of course, not the photos). Love you all!

If you would like to make a donation to the immediate relief efforts we recommend donating to the Red Cross or World Vision. If you would like to donate to the recovery and rebuilding efforts that will take place for the months to come then I recommend donating to Plant With Purpose.
