Engagement 11.29.2010
NATE erica
Well hello there Monday after Thanksgiving, here you are upon us again! Oh well, I had 5 days off so I welcome you this time (even though I was up ALL night…blasted cough! thank goodness for coffee, LOTS of it). Rico and I had a lovely Thanksgiving here in San Diego. My sister and fam came to visit from Idaho and we all enjoyed some vegan Thankgsiving feasting….mmmmm the only way to do it if you ask me. So we neglected our email and our lightroom for good times with family, trips to the zoo with our niece, movie nights, wine, and vegan biscuits and gravy (SO worth a mention)….so I’d say our being behind this week was for a good cause. So here I am, Monday morning, coffee IV in place, ready to tackle the day and ignore all the cyber Monday sales; so I’ll do something I love, blog posting.
So for your cyber Monday today, I am sharing with you the engagement session of Erica and Nate. These two lovelies live in Seattle but are getting married in Cali in May at Erica’s family winery (Saarloos and Sons). So they flew down here from Seattle a few weeks back for a little esesh action that didn’t disappoint. We wandered around, laughed, took a few pics and had good times all around. Erica and Nate, my Seattle friends, you two are so adorable and we REALLY enjoyed hanging out with you and all your photogenic-ness. We cannot WAIT for your May wedding in the land of the wineries and beautiful light, it’s going to be perfection, I can already feel it. Have a great week my friends and until next time, I leave you with Erica and Nate!

Oh Monday, why do you come so quickly? Good thing it’s a shorter week with the holiday coming up! I cannot wait for Thursday…we are hosting the feast at our place and it’s going to be a vegan Thanksgiving extravaganza, I’m telling you, pure awesome. Perhaps I’ll take pics and share them with you next week, hmmmmmm. Besides being thankful for good food (sweet potatos!!!! yuuuummmmmm), what else are you thankful for? Oh man, so much, I had the flu this past weekend so thankful for my awesome husband for cooking all my meals and taking care of me, then (since I’m feeling better today) thankful for health, for my lovely family that will be visiting this week and for the ones who are far away, hmmmm, what else, well Nina of course (our fat little kitty), and if I listed everything else this post would be WAY too long. Lets just say I have many many many blessings in my life and I can’t wait to celebrate them all on Thursday.
OH, you know what else I’m thankful for, my amazing clients who, as I mentioned in my previous post, allow us to be who we are and to do what we love. Among those amazing clients is a very special couple named Andie and Doug. I don’t even know where to start with these two, from the second I spoke with Andie over the phone I knew we were a match…not only as photog/bride but as friends. Andie and Doug have become some of our biggest supporters and are a HUGE reason why our business has achieved the success that it has…not to mention, they know to throw a mean wedding! Their Calamigos Ranch wedding was STUNNING and pretty much perfect with all their DIY details and perfect planning. I was in wedding photographer heaven, seriously, HEAVEN. Andie did an entire write up on her day explaining all her details/vendors that was recently featured on Style Me Pretty so I’ll let you read it in her words THERE. So now I’ll stop my yapping and present to you the lovely hot stunning amazingly brilliant Andie and Doug…..but before I go, Andie and Doug, seriously, you know how much we love you….we are SO THANKFUL for you . Our biz and our lives would not be the same had we not met you and we are SO BLESSED to have you as friends. We cannot wait to see you again soon and hope you’re having a fab time down under!
The fabulous vendors! SO FUN working with you!

Here we are again, Monday! Slightly later than usual, which is what happens when you sleep until noon. NOON? Yep, noon my friends. And before you think we’re just a bunch of lazies, I have good reason for our sleeping in extravaganza. We have been shooting non stop with VERY LITTLE sleep since Thursday (which is why I’m behind on my emails..sorry!), and we finished out the 2010 season with our 45th wedding on Saturday, SOOOO it’s safe to say we’re a bit tired. Tiredness for a good cause though if you ask me, which is why we’d like to show you just a little bit of what we were able to shoot the last 5 days. Kevin, Wendy, Matt, Rebecca, Tommy, and Lydia…we had SUCH a BLAST at your weddings and Trash the Dress shoots this weekend. You are why we do this job and why we love it so much, and we thank you for that. Thank YOU (and this goes to all our lovely clients out there) for making our hours of shooting and editing all worth it and for helping us fulfill what we believe we were created to be, artists. We love you all and we hope you enjoy the little glimpse from all the goodness that went on this weekend! xoxox
