Hello there all you three day weekenders! We kept ourselves busy with several shoots over the weekend, one being the sweet wedding at Paradise Point in San Diego that I shared in the last post. I wanted to start out the week on this fabulous Tuesday with a shoot that we did on Friday. I have for you the lovely Kristen and her trash the dress session. She is a wilderness girl at heart, so we decided to hunt for some snow and we got there just in time! It was a little cold but she was a trooper and rocked it, although not hard to rock it when you’re as hot as her…she was melting the snow for sure (yes yes, I know, I just couldn’t help myself)! Seriously though, it was such a treat to do this shoot with Kristen (one of my dearest friends) and to have a little different setting than we typically see in San Diego (sunny all the time). Alright, I hear some lunch calling my name so I’ll leave you with the pictures….always better than my words anyway! Enjoy my friends!
oh, and also a quick request. One of my couples is having a slight venue emergency. Their venue is canceling on them for their May wedding (and all the other weddings that were booked there) so they have an urgent need to find a replacement venue ASAP. I know you’re all pros out there and if you have any venue recommendations that are a bit off the beaten path in the San Diego area, please post it in the comments. Thanks you so much for your help and we love you all!!!
Happy Monday to you all my internet friends! I had a great weekend with three awesome engagement sessions, one of which was an e.MOTION with Mr. Tom from Aqua Vivus Productions and we all know that e.MOTION + Tom = good times. I seriously cannot wait to show it to you but we’ll have to hold off a bit so we can perfect it. HOWEVER, I have something just as good to show you! We recently did an e.MOTION version of a trash the dress so today not only do you get stills but you get some video as well! Who loves you?
So I know I’ve written about Caren and Jesse several times before and you feel like they are old friends, so I won’t go on and on about how great they are because that has already been established, but seriously they are amazing. We shot their adorable wedding at the Thursday Club in August and then scheduled a Trash the Dress afterwards. For the session we started in Mission Hills where we all live and had a some fun with the flower wall, then afterwards headed to a more natural setting at one of our favorite parks with the BEST WEEDS EVER….who’d of though that dried up weeds could be so photogenic! After we wrapped everything up we made a quick stop for some dinner at Lucha Libre in Mission Hills, because quite frankly, it is the best….and who doesn’t want to eat there in their wedding dress? Well, they were so kind to let us take some shots in their “winner’s booth” and then let us use their masks as props (Thank you Lucha Libre for flexibility and AWESOME burritos!). So all in all, this shoot was not only visually amazing with such a beautiful couple, it was an absolute blast complete with laying in the street, hanging with Tom, mexican food, and luchador masks.
So with that I’ll leave you with the pictures and the e.MOTION video at the end. Remember to hit play then pause and let the bar load all the way to the right for optimal viewing pleasure. Thanks friends! We love you all!
Ps. Comment if you want to make my day, because it’s Monday and everyone needs a little cheer on Monday right? (oh and warning, beware of Nacho Libre quotes…Best.Movie.Ever. Are you with me? Well, maybe not the best, but close!)
Check out the fabulous tall weeds! See what I was talking about?
my favorite!
And now for the winner’s booth!
“something good inside me helps me carry on, I ate some bugs, I ate some grass, I used my hand to wipe my tears, to kiss your mouth. I break my vows, no no no no no no way Jose.”
Rico, Jesse and Tom in all their luchador glory… “When you are a man, sometimes you wear stretchy pants in your room. It’s for fun.”
Ok, so now for some e.MOTION goodness and a little more Caren and Jesse love….again, special thanks to Tom and his video skills! Our love for you is so great Tom. Enjoy!
I woke up this morning to the sound of rain outside, which made me VERY happy because I love rain. Sometimes I think that maybe I was meant to live in Seattle. Then again, I can’t complain, San Diego does provide beautiful weather that is ESPECIALLY ideal for photography. So I’m crossing my fingers that it won’t rain this weekend because we have several engagement sessions in San Francisco. COME ON SUN!
So, on another note…Monday blog post time! I’ve had my coffee and am fully recovered from all the holiday parties this weekend (KISSmas party ROCKED and we for sure got our dance on…although a little bummed because Rico totally BLEW AWAY the dance off, did the worm and everything and he SHOULD HAVE WON! anyways, that’s my expert opinion), and I’m ready to share with you the fabulous Trash the Dress session that we did with Amanda & Paul. Remember these two whose wedding we shot back in July? Well we met up with them again for their Trash the Dress session last month. We started out in downtown LA where we were able to take advantage of some of the graffiti there (LOVE graffiti). Then we headed over to the Santa Monica pier because every wedding dress needs to go in the ocean sometimes right? Amanda was as stunning as ever and totally rocked the pink boots (love them!) AND the camera….which I wasn’t surprised about because she’s seriously amazing, trust me, it’s true. Ok, so I think perhaps the second pot of coffee is calling my name so I’ll leave you to the pictures, they’re MUCH more exciting than I am FOR SURE. Enjoy the fabulousness that is Amanda and Paul!
